Solo Exhibit: September 11 - October 18, 2015

Madeline Peckenpaugh, 414-14, 2014, Oil on canvas, 54" x 58".

Placed in a private collection.

Seraphin Gallery is pleased to present Madeline Peckenpaugh's inaugural solo exhibition here, at Seraphin Gallery.  Peckenpaugh's recent oil paintings will be on display from September 11 until October 18. The opening reception will be held on Friday, September 11, from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Peckenpaugh's large scale work combines action and strategy with color in textured compositions.  She builds these paintings sculpturally through the addition and subtraction of paint.  Constructing depth and blockades, the artist invites the viewer to try to be enveloped by the work through entering the space.  Recreating feeling, emotion, and ambience from specific moments in time, Peckenpaugh's palettes and paintings vary in complexity and tension.  Visit Madeline Peckenpaugh: Recent Works to view the impacts of these portals.

The artist graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a Certificate in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts after receiving the William Emlen Cresson Memorial Travel Scholarship and the Elena and Will Barnet Prize for Abstract Art.  Her work can be seen in the collection at the Woodmere Museum of Art.
